New addition to our GFIA Conference... (General Discussion)
We've just confirmed with Coyote Creek Farm a tour of their facility. They are this area's primary supplier of organic feed and most of the Certified Organic farms in central Texas get their feed from Coyote Creek. In addition, the owner is passionate about health soil. He believes that healthy soil is the basis for healthy grasses and healthy plants. He will spend time talking to us about that concept and process, and how it can be replicated, as well as considerations for and manufacture of organic feed.
I think we will learn as much here as we did from Harvey Ussery (and the weather will be a lot better!).
sounds like a terrific side trip
Healthy soil and the means of making soil healthier ought to be really helpful. I hope someone takes notes and will post them. The soil here is not good...but it can be made good. Our neighbors land to the west had cattle grazing on it for 20 years. It developed a terrific layer of topsoil supporting lush pasture grass. My soil is here is not so great as then next place is...but there is hope!

New addition to our GFIA Conference...
This may be just in time for me. Mung beans are so expensive, yet well worth the costs when sprouted for the birds. I have considered growing my own. I am already geared up to grow my own Proso White Millett once I find the seeds.
Wonderful!
I'll be putting up an updated conference agenda, which includes the farm tour, as soon as I can. Got a little busy here at home, so it probably won't be up online until later tonight or tomorrow.
Updated agenda will be online later today
Sorry, I got waylaid with things here at home and online and didn't get around to working with the agenda until today. Look for the updated agenda later tonight.
