I just spoke to Bee-Yole on the phone! (General Discussion)

by studioxp, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 20:37

Bee-yole is now at a rehab nursing home and seems in good spirits. His speech has been effected but he tries real hard to talk. I couldn't understand anything except "yes" but encouraged him to talk anyway. We laughed a lot and I told him all about the going-ons at the forum and he really seemed happy to hear a little bit about everyone. He doesn't have a phone in his room but the nurse (for some reason) transfered me to the portable phone and allowed us to talk. It was really wonderful. His laughter was strong and his mind very sharp. I asked him if he could walk and he said "no" but I sensed his strong will and maybe even an acceptance in what had happened to him. I spoke about Whitey and I could almost feel his smile. I mentioned how Hedy and Connie were so on top of things and sharing with us all his news. Sorry...but I had to mention the worm drama and we both laughed throughout the story. I told him how some of us were starting to get eggs and he was excited...he said weeeeeeeee! Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all. It was really a wonderful moment in time and just know you all were included. Please keep good wishes and prayers going on for him. He really misses you all.

Thanks for the update and for it being such good news! GO BILL!!!

Amazing how you were able to capture his spirit over a phone line--and with him saying so little. I'm sure it brought him joy.

Thank Heavens

Thank Gog For Bills progress. The news of his stroke hit me hard. I have only met Bill in person once but that was enough to confirm, he is the great guy I thought he is. He is my kind of guy, friendly, interesting, smart and resourcefull. I wish I lived a little closer so I could be of some help. Now that he is in rehab I will have to make a visit.
